ArtistScope DRM is a new release by ArtistScope, leading developer of DRM
and copy protection software since 1998.
ArtistScope invented copy protection when none was available. Then they revolutionized DRM by introducing call-to-home validation for media viewed on the desktop. Today ArtistScope provides the most secure protection software for all types of media in both desktop reading and online reading scenarios.
However DRM was never included for use in online viewing because most modern websites are built using a CMS like WordPress, Moodle, Drupal, Joomla or DNN, which already include sophisticated membership management functions, that could conflict with any additional add-ons. But those membership controls only cater for password validation and passwords can be shared.
Other problems that can be faced with modifying an existing membership system is that normal web browsers cannot identify users uniquely because they cannot retrieve MAC address. Identification by IP address is a useless concept in this instance because IP addresses are randomly assigned in most cases and a multitude of computers can be using the same IP addresses that faces the Internet from corporate and home networks. Also, anyone using a CMS like WordPress which insists on being updated to the new version, is likely to break or overwrite any code that may have been customized for DRM.
However, ArtistScope DRM solves all of those problems by providing twp arts, a front end comprised of code to be included on pages to be DRM protected, and a back end for logging and user management. Currently ArtistScope DRM is available as a plugin for
WordPress websites and the backend, which is written in PHP, can be added to the same WordPress website or any other website that supports PHP. In fact any web site can use ArtistScope DRM. All it takes is a couple of lines of code added to any web page.
