A dedicated or at least a virtual server is required to be able to install the ASPS software at system level. Shared hosting services do not allow customers to install outside of their website root folder.

Also, server admin privileges are required to complete the installation of the ASPS server software.

Virtual servers can be rented from services like GoDaddy for as little as $30-40/month. Otherwise you can use ASPS Protected Hosting for sites on shared hosting servers.
