With today's security limitations applied to Java, popular web browsers are now checking for Code Signing certificates before they will allow Java to run. However, in their oversight they are only allowing currently signed Java to run which is a gross inconvenience to everyone. Once code signed, the module should be validated for life, as it is with all other software.

So now all users of applets on their web site must update their JAR files every year for their visitors to access their Java features. This will be unfortunate for most because Java apps purchased more than 12 months ago may no longer be supported or the provider may be out of business.

However for Secure Image clients, ArtistScope does maintain a download that is updated each year.
