ASPS Online Demo Revised For Simplicity

October 2015
ASPS Online Demo Simplified.

March 20, 2017 – The demo site for the ArtistScope Site Protection System (ASPS) has been simplified to remove confusion over the many different features and options available. The new demo control panel should get new accounts under way for evaluation much quicker and with less confusion.

The ASPS demo uses the ArtistScope Site Protection System (ASPS) to mirror client sites after revising the HTML to adjust links to media, CSS and images, so that the page can be delivered via the ASPS server and still look as the same as the original page/s.

The original version of the ASPS demo included options for hosting various types of media on pages created on the fly from templates. But today's web site owners don't seem to have the HTML skills that they used to, probably due to CMS like WordPress making it all too easy, ie: no skills are required to webmaster a site these days. Consequently, most of the users that tried the ASPS Protected Hosting demo didn't have a clue as to how it worked.

Now, to demonstrate how ASPS can copy protect a web page anywhere, including any page on your web site, all you need to do is nominate a start page on your web site. The ASPS server will scrape the HTML from your page, modify CSS and media links, then deliver remodeled HTML from the ASPS server via the ArtisBrowser. The new web page is encrypted by the ASPS server and can only be decrypted and displayed by the ArtisBrowser.

Of course visitors can still link directly to the original pages, but that is where the ASPS Check Referrer add-on comes in. When installed on your web site, ASPS Check Referrer prevents access to any pages that you nominate for copy protection, leaving access via the ASPS server the only avenue for viewing those pages.

The ASPS Check Referrer add-on can be downloaded for use on PHP and ASP web sites. Sites using CMS such as DNN, Drupal, Joomla, Moodle and WordPress can download and install an appropriate add-on that can be managed from their CMS dashboard.
