The SafeGuard DRM plugin for WordPress adds access rights protection to WordPress web pages and posts, to control who has permission to view and for how long. SafeGuard DRM pages cannot be accessed without the site owner's authorization.
SafeGuard DRM identifies each user by their unique computer signature, making it possible to lock access rights to their account - the sharing of password protected logins is impossible. Each user requires a DRM Token.
Safeguard DRM cannot be exploited.
SafeGuard DRM is most commonly used for managing access rights to paid subscriptions to tutorials online. It is also be used to protect other intellectual property such as corporate data, stock lists, formulas and recipes, ensuring that only authorized persons can view the contents of PDF documents.
The default settings that apply to all tokens:
Before creating DRM Tokens, the web pages in question need to be registered in your dashboard.
Start by editing the web page and clicking the WEB button. The Classic Editor is shown below.
Note the shortcode above and how it contains 2 parameters; 1) the account ApiKey, and 2) the web page url.
When web pages have been registered in your dashboard for DRM protection, then you can start creating DRM Tokens for each user, assigning the token to one of the pages in your page List.
The settings that can apply to individual tokens:
By submitting to create a DRM Token, the user is sent an eanil with instructions, and the page that you assigned is added to your dashboard for later editing/management.
DRM tokens can be automatically created and their details emailed to the user following a successful sale in the WooCommerce shopping cart. We do provide a plugin for that and it is available upon request when your account is established (non-demo).
When DRM protection is added to your web page it will not be visible. Your web page will look no different. But it will not be accessible without ownership of a DRM Token.
SafeGuard DRM actions in the background while checking for the visitor's unique computer signature to see if it matches your approved users list. If the user does have DRM rights then nothing happens - the page is displayed. If their ID is not found they are then prompted to claim ownership by nominating the token ID number and account details that were provided by email. When validated, their access to the protected page is granted and they should never have to prove ownership again.
DRM Tokens cannot be shared. Once a user claims a DRM Token it becomes theirs, and it can never be claimed again, not without the assistance of the site owner.
