About ArtisWiki
ArtisWiki is mostly about online publishing with artists and authors in mind. The most notable differences between ArtisWiki and other wikis are:
- The people who contribute our articles are artists or authors, some which have more than 60 years experience in their field.
- Unlike other wikis, the information here is not a comllection of trivia scraped from search results.
- The practices and techniques discussed here will always be the best advice with best interests of the artis* in mind.
ArtisWiki Backend
ArtisWiki may look different to most other wikis because we haven't used the same open-source CMS. ArtisWiki was purposely designed and is original code. Another major difference is that ArtisWiki does not rely on a database. Instead article pages are hard coded (static html) to minimise resource consumption and enhance page speed.
How to become an ArtisWiki Editor
To join the team of ArtisWiki authors and editors, one can start by creating an article. When ready to submit your first article, use our contact form to introduce yourself with a link to download your article for review. When approved you will be provided login access to edit/update your article and to add new articles. All new articles and updates are reviewed by others before being published.
ArtisWiki online editor
While articles can be submitted by email, most editing can be performed online from an inline editor especially designed to edit the pages (files) stored on our server.
