Some users are getting an error message that says "Failed to initialize critical component".
What does that mean and how to fix?
Failed to initialize critical component
Re: Failed to initialize critical component
This error is usually related to Windows XP or Vista users which uses different ArtisBrowser modules to later versions of Windows.
The problem occurs when there is either a lack of permissions to run the browser or an unfriendly anti-virus software has disabled some components. You can try running the browser with elevated permissions by right-clicking on its start icon and selecting "Run as Administrator" or whitelisting ArtisBrowser in the anti-virus software's settings.
If the problem us due to anti-virus software intervention and you cannot add programs to its whitelist, uninstall it because it must be rubbish.
Users on Windows 7 and later should never see that error.
