Copy protection for videos on USB

Post by MediTech »

I am looking for software to encrypt a video file on USBs.

But I do not allow the user to copy the file to other devices. The USB should not be tied to one device.

Do you have such a product?

Firstly, preventing the copy of a file from any media like USB to another file location is virtually impossible. With DVD one can use specially manufactured disks that store essential code in hidden sectors, but that process is expensive. With USB it is not feasible because it can be exploited too easily.

However by using DRM one can can control who can view the video, making any copies useless to anyone who doesn't have your authorization.

With DRM you can distribute the same files to everyone, and then provide each user a login to register their device. Once their device ID is registered into the system, when they open a video they will be granted access automatically. Users can be allowed up to 3 different devices.

The CopySafe Video Encoder is the solution but users will require a Windows computer. Mac users can install the CopySafe Video Player by running Parrallels or another VM solution to use Windows.

Alternatively, if you need support for all OS including mobile phones, we can provide "online viewing" solutions. User access with online viewing can then be regulated by using membership/login to your website.

Online viewing is most popular because it offers more control and curriculum can be updated instantly.

If your website uses WordPress, we provide plugins for both DRM and copy protection of all media including images, PDF and video.

The choice is yours.
