New ASPS Web Browser is Coming Soon  Close

Protecting web page media from copy and piracy while allowing access to popular web browsers has always been like filling a bucket that has a gaping hole in the bottom. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari are designed to be popular and to do that they have enabled their users to copy and collect web media by every means possible without any consideration for the protection of intellectual property or copyright. Popular browsers have always favored end users in preference to providing web designers with stability by conforming to accepted plugin architecture and HTML standards... "here for one version and gone the next" has always been par for the course.

Web Content Can Now Be Properly Protected

The ASPS Browser secures all of the holes exposed by other browsers and the new version can be used on any web site (no longer requires an ASPS server license). It can be used with any existing web site and supports any and all copy protection solutions making it the browser of choice where copy protection is paramount.

More Secure With Stable Support For All Web Protection

CopySafe Web and CopySafe PDF clients will be able to require that the ASPS browser be used by visitors for their protected web pages, thus avoiding all of the pitfalls encountered with other web browsers.

Code Snippets For Webmasters : No Print Screen

Disable Print Screen - Prevent Print Screen

There is a JavaScript code snippet for disabling Print Screen. This JavaScript will clear the clipboard repeatedly so that any attempts to copy and paste or use the Print Screen key will be thwarted by replacing the clipboard with emptiness.

This works in Internet Explorer only and depending upon the browser's security settings, will more than likely request permission to allow JavaScript to access the clipboard every time it refreshes. Clicking to not allow will disable the script and enable Print Screen on Internet Explorer (IE).

It has absolutely no effect whatsoever on Mozilla browsers.

This page can be tested: Click the Print Screen key and then open Microsoft Paint (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint) to paste the image.

You can use this script directly on your page (left example) or by using a JavaScript insert (right example). Either way, the placement of the script can be either in between the head tags or the body tags of your HTML.

<SCRIPT language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">

// -->
<SCRIPT SRC="no-printscreen.js"></SCRIPT>

Do not count on this method for copy protection at all. It only works in IE (with warnings) and it will not prevent screen shots that were taken by any one of the hundreds of screen capture utilities. To prevent Printscreen and screen capture effectively, you need a plugin solution that works at system level like the CopySafe Runtime utilized by CopySafe Web and the CopySafe PDF Reader solutions.
