DRM Add-ons for CopySafe PDF Protector
add-ons you can provide your own DRM validation service
for eBooks and PDF documents. You can also run your PDF
Protector online (server-side) and have it interfaced
with your web site to provide online uploads and remote
document conversion for your office staff or site
CopySafe PDF protector includes both a Windows GUI (executable) and a COM object
which has been specially optimized for command-line operation. The COM object
can be used via a DOS prompt or run from a .bat file. However, to increase the
scope of its use there are now add-ons to enable you to use the
Protector online, running server side and controllable from your web pages.

DRM Management Portal
With this add-on, you can provide a DRM validation service for your protected
eBooks and PDF documents from your own website. You can also add users and
documents and have
total control over their access rights that extends to documents that have
already been downloaded and on a user's computer.
The best description of the features and sophistication of this DRM management
portal is to see it in action. What this add-on provides is exactly what you see in the ArtistScope-hosted DRM Validation
Service on this website that you can explore by using a demo account.
- Protect which users or groups can view
- Protect expiration on a document validated
by time server or local time
- Protect the number of views of
a documents per user
- Protect the number of prints of
a document per user
- Protect access to documents by IP number or network
- Manage document permissions and user
subscriptions with immediate effect over changes
Requires support for ASP and either Access or MS-SQL databases. Also requires a
friendly web host that will allow the installation of a server DLL used
for encrypting and decrypting the DRM responses. Installation is as simple as
copying a folder to the root of your website and setting write permissions on
your upload folders. If your host does not allow Windows DLLs, then contact
ArtistScope support for a web hosting company that is already providing this service
in your area.
DRM Server DLL
This package includes a Windows DLL and Windows processing service to
interface the PDF Protector running server-side with the DRM Management Portal.
Installation of these components requires full Administrator privileges and
unless you can find a very friendly web host, you may need to own a own web
server for your use.
Installed with the DRM Portal above, you can upload PDF and have it converted
server side for both copy as well as DRM protection. When installed on its own,
this DLL can serve as the interface for your own web pages to control the
protector but only for copy protection. In other words, you need the DRM Portal to also
CopySafe PDF is by far more secure than all other eBook and PDF document
protection solutions because it was designed to be so. Performing a web
search on "extract password from PDF" or "remove DRM from eBooks"
can provide an insight to how
useless most document protection solutions really are. Any similarities
between the total control management of documents provided by ArtistScope DRM
and the "claims" of others are mostly inspired and pioneered by ArtistScope DRM.
CopySafe PDF is ideal for the distribution of documents
by download and on CD, but if your documents are to be
viewed from your website, then you should check
out the ASPS Web Reader which is specially designed for copy protecting web content
instead of exposing it like other web browsers do. ASPS
provides the most secure copy protection for all web
page content including PDF, Flash and video.
